Public Relations Internship Available
It’s that time again! We’re looking for not one but two brilliant public relations interns with:
- A communications, journalism or English major in process
- Ability to work at least 15 hours/week
- Outstanding communications skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic, highly creative setting
- Previous PR/media experience
- An enthusiasm for social media – beyond your facebook account – we’re looking for someone who gets it from a marketing perspective and really, really loves it.
Here’s what you’ll get hands-on experience doing:
- Direct media pitching
- Writing media releases and alerts
- Upkeeping digital clipbooks
- Blog and social media correspondence
- Brainstorming
- Research
- Creating and updating media lists
- General account support
And working for us isn’t so bad either. While we can’t compensate you with pay, the experience is invaluable. We’ll take the time to teach, support, provide you with responsibility and have some fun. Please note that you must be working for school credit.
If you fit the bill, please send your resume, cover letter and references to lizzie@baileygardiner.com or call (619) 295-8232.

I wish the people of Bailey Gardiner would consider taking on interns that were recent grads (especially if they are ones who simply seek to gain experience for free). As a student at UCSD who was fully dependent upon financial aid, I had to work full-time; I was unable to apply for any internships that interested me. Now that I have graduated, I find that the majority of internships require one to be a student.
Basically, I am offering a suggestion to take on recent grads during the entire year – and not just during the Del Mar Racetrack season (as I missed that posting!). Thanks much for the time!
Melissa –
It’s a California state law that requires us to give school credit to those interns willing to gain experience for free, which eliminates recent grads.
Feel free to send me an email with your resume and I can take a look at it for possibilities in the near future that may better suit a recent grad.
Thanks for commenting.
Lizzie-
Thanks much for the response! I will be sure to send in a resume as soon as possible. I didn’t realize that it was a law; however, I assumed as much (as the only internships I’ve spotted for recent grads have been paid).
Thanks again!
Melissa
