New Business is a Team Sport
We launched a new concept this week. New Business = Team Sport.
Each member of our agency, regardless of the department or position, was asked to post 5 new business leads they will spearhead to new client status. Initial reactions were mixed. “I am not a good salesperson” or “This is my first job, I don’t have a big network” were some of the responses. My response was “It is OKAY!” They will have a pitch team selected to match the opportunity. Also, there are many ways that each person is identifying who they will add to their “Top 5″ list:
- Brands they love
- Previous brand or industry experience
- People they know and people they know through people they know
- Working with our preferred suppliers and media reps to identify brands we should be working with

All of our Top 5 Lists are posted outside our office doors. Sharing them is holding us all accountable for contributing to the growth of our agency AND is sparking a lot of team work and chatter.
