Latest Social Media Statistics

cat.jpgOur friend Jason Baer from Convince & Convert was in San Diego to visit our advertising & PR agency this week, and he shared some interesting social media statistics and measurements that astounded even us online marketing experts.

  • Four out of five computer users are now active in Social Media
  • 13 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute
  • There are 3.6 billions photos on Flickr (most of them are cats)
  • 70 million photos are uploaded to Facebook every day
  • Twitter counts some 19 million tweets a day
  • Social Media spending will grow 34% per year through 2014

Since you are reading this as part of our agency blog, I assume you are already part of the statistics above. I just wonder, if a marketer sees these staggering numbers and still questions the validity of engaging in social media and online advertising, how long before they find themselves obsolete?

Just sayin’….
