Last night Indra, Liz and I attended the California Restaurant Association’s Gold Medallion Awards Dinner. It was the first time any of us had attended and we all agreed it was a good event. I mean how could it not be with over 1,000 people from the restaurant and hospitality industries in one (large) room together with free flowing wine!  It was a rowdy bunch.  While we were there to represent BG, mingle and support San Diego’s restauranteurs, we were also there to cheer on our client Jade Theater - the hot new restaurant and nightclub you’ve probably been hearing about. Chef James Montejano was up for Chef of the Year and Jade was up for Best New Restaurant. While James didn’t win in the chef category (you’ll get ‘em next year, Chef!), Jade did win for Best New Restaurant! And we couldn’t be happier for them. You may have also noticed the venue on the cover of San Diego Magazine’s May issue and inside in the Nighlife feature.  Not bad for the new kid in town.
