Being Creative For A Young Crowd

One of the advantages of working in a creative agency is that you get to work for a wide range of a clients. Each client has their own style, personality and of course, different needs.

We were given the opportunity to work on a campaign geared towards college students for Pierce Education Properties. They own high-end, off-campus housing at Michigan State (Chandler Crossings) and Central Michigan State (The Village at Bluegrass).

Bailey Gardiner was tasked with creating a campaign geared towards freshman and sophomores that would promote the properties and drive students to the sales offices in hopes that the would sign a lease. I mean come on, what young person wouldn’t want to live there? Spacious furnished apartments, private bedrooms, private bathrooms, your own washer & dryer, a gym, a pool, tanning beds, free public transportation and all the social aspects.

All of us working on the account practically drooled and were quite jealous we didn’t get this kind of treatment back when we were in college.

This project was especially fun for us. There really weren’t any limits on what we could do. These are college students. You can practically get away with anything.

Our creative team presented three concepts for this and the client selected the concept: Life at Chandler Crossings or the Village at Bluegrass is awesome because it’s all about you.

The work, which the client contributes a 20-25% increase in traffic to, turned out amazing.

I must say though, my favorite and most funny piece we created was the toilet paper:

Pretty cool huh?
